About Me

Since 2016, I’ve lived and worked in this wonderful city, and I get to do what I love day in and day out.

I was born and raised in coastal Virginia, right up the road from Virginia Beach. I grew up in a world where music, media, and creative expression were paramount, using my passions to serve the church in which I grew up, both on stage and behind the scenes.

Prior to moving to Nashville, I worked mostly in student ministry, serving in churches across the Southeast. Helping people and teaching them how to find the most joy and freedom in their lives, ultimately connecting them with their Creator, has been the calling on my life since I was 15 years old, and it was in this space that I had the chance to live out what I believed God was wanting me to do.

When I moved to Nashville, I found myself with no job, enough money for rent, and not much else. While I was bussing tables at a local restaurant to make ends meet, I stumbled into an art form that I had never thought about much prior: making coffee. From 2016 until 2021, I worked in the coffee industry in many different roles: barista, store manager, wholesale director, lead educator & quality director, roaster, and marketing director, to name a few. It taught me how to love people through serving, as well as create in new ways like building flavor profiles and menus.

When my time in the coffee industry ended, I didn't stop serving people. I looked to a new pathway to meet needs, this time a little bit further up the "supply chain": finances and spending habits. Whether it's creating book orders, troubleshooting technical issues, or providing coaching through financial issues, I get to talk to people every day who just need a little bit of hope and answer questions that can change their legacies forever.

The most important thing about me, though, is that I get to live this life with my wife Alley and our two dogs, Tod and Dolly. I met Alley in 2017, and it was love at first sight. We've been together ever since, and it's the best adventure ever.
